Cola

I was just thinking the other day of stopping Colas insurance as she was now 7yrs and how much damage could she do to herself these days!! thank god i didnt as come Mon during a lovely walk with her beagle friends, i noticed she was bopping...then as we got near to the end of the walk she was definately lame...by the evening she was holding up her front leg...i didnt think too much about it as i know Cola is a tough nut and by the morning she would prob be sound...come tues morning she was still holding up her leg and hopping everywhere...decided there and then to take her to the vets...xrays were booked for the next morning, so no food and a GA which i hate putting my dogs through. She was beside herself by the morning and was attacking peps for food! time to take her to vets..after 1pm the vet rang to say nothing broken but suspected it was a soft tissue injury (guessing as far as i am concerned) so given rimadyl and sent on our way! after finding out she had v stressed at the vets, crying and howling (she did it whilst i was waiting to pick her up)...i didnt even recognise the cries! poor thing...she has had no walks at all this week and just sleeps...she goes back to vets on tues and if with pain relief and anti inflammatories is no better than i will insist on a referral as i want this sorted or at least on its way to healing..

I decided to journal this more for my benefit so i can keep a track on what happened etc... :)

2011 update

wow its been a while since i blogged! lol 2011 was a good year for me, I managed to attend the judges seminar back in February and since then have judged at Wallingford and Suffolk 5 Rivers, both shows were gr8 fun and i really enjoyed the experience...hence why in 2012 i have 5 appointments and had to decline one!! guna b a busy bee :)

Hoochi had a good year...still in g6 but we finally have some kind of contacts..just need to speed him up as he is losing too much time at the mo...his jumping is still as good as ever :) bless...health wise touch wood he has been ok...;)

Peps turned 11yrs this year...and she is slowly starting to show her age...she has slowed up a bit but still loves water!! and food...lol but her eyesight is slowly deterioating..i caught her today running down the wrong path in the opposite direction on our walk!! think she needs to go to specsavers!!!

Cola started the year in a lot of pain and she kept attacking Peps, i knew she needed to go back to Merrissa (Chiro) and after a couple of sessions...she has been lovely, she hasnt shown any aggression to Peps since and is back to her old happy self! she now has at least 3 boyfriends too...lol cant believe she will b 8 in March! where does the time go!

As for me, my business is still growing...i have made some new friends this year through my business which has been nice...i have also finally gone to a chiro and sorted out my back since my car accident 5yrs ago...finally now straight and in alot less pain...and loving being a member of North Downs club.

Dogs in Need

great week...Hoochi was soo near getting a clear round at beg of week...got all his contacts all week!! fab we managed to win fancy dress pairs! lol and a 3rd in agility and 4th in jumping! brill...hes back to chiro on Fri so hoping they will make him 100% fit....thanks to Mandy for letting me camp in Pimms!! lol lol ;)

Agility club show

Had a lovely weekend at Ag Club show spent Sat scriming for Mand in champ ring....that was scarey but good fun....Hoochi did some lovely oooo near miss runs and all my woofs had a fab break...i also managed to clean my caravan on Sun night with the help of Arthur! lol

I have decided to take Hoochi back to the chiro this week as he has been doubling up in the weaves and jumping of the seasaw! 2 signs i was told to watch out for...i also think he isnt straight and his pelvis is out...but we all know he loves the boys! lol fingers xd all ok for DIN...cant wait :)

Pom Poms!

mmm have given hoochi some pom poms but not sure if i like them or not!! lol...he needed his coat off as was getting too hot bless...off camping this weekend at ardingly...cant wait as havnt been away since april!!! ;)

Billingshurst show

Had a lovely day today...although i was finished by 10am lol but didnt leave the show till 5pm! Hoochi was back! woohoo our first clear round for ages...he ran the G5-7 jumping and did it in 30 secs which i thought was slow (he ran early on) i went back at the end of the class to realise that he was in 3rd place...ooo would i get my first trophy of the season!! they only placed to 3rd and i was in luck...his first trophy of the year....well done little man....we then went and did the G5-7 agility, he has been jumping off seasaws recently and was worried this was the start of something but we worked really hard to boost his confidence and he did a good seasaw...missed his a frame contact! nothing knew but got his dog walk so we are making improvements... lol lol

catch up

wow nearly been over a month since last posted! since then i have done my first KC judging which was a very long day but enjoyable...have one more at the end of the year which is gr8 (2 appointments already booked for next year! lol)...it definately opens your eyes to what judges have to put up with and how rewarding it is to give something back to the sport!...i have also been elected to the committee at North Downs!! we have our first meeting soon :) so all going well on the agility front...

Hoochi has had some lovely places this year and working well...we have also managed a couple of clears in agility too! my best run to date was his 5th in a g6/7 jumping he worked soo nicely and it was a big class for smalls, he has also had 2nd and 3rd places (no trophies yet though grrrr :)...no videos at the mo as my camera is broken grrrr hence no piccies recently...

Cola has also started back competing at shows! after 4yrs out i decided to start running her as she was fit and well and loving the one to one...she has had clear rounds too....Mandy suggested i try a headcollar on her for queueing as she was so unpredictable and stressful to queue with...this works brilliant..less worrying for me too! lol :)

Peps is 10.5yrs now...ahh bless...she is still enjoying her walks and being naughty! lol...

As for my work front it is still slow progressing and i am applying for work all the time but as the country is in such a mess i know it will take time to get any offers at the mo...meanwhile i have offered to volunteer at a couple of animal places (ill update when i know if they come off)...

Love the fact that agility season is up and running and can catch up with friends or in Amandas case (aquintancies!! lol) not long now till DINAS woohoo my only holiday of the year... :)

Hooch n holly!! ahhh sweet...Holly (an otterhound) loves coming to stay with us and Peps and Cola both love her to bits...kisses everywhere! lol...lovely walk today on the common...now woofs all fast asleep! :)

i managed to wash car and clean it out, sweep leaves from front garden and back...now time for a cuppa and a creme egg! wohoo soon be easter :)

Judging

Had a fab weekend doing the judges seminar (had to use my brain for a change!)...passed the rules and regs now just had to pass the practical course design workshop and judging!! phew...all ok and now a KC judge!! not sure if this is going to be a scarey experience or fun....have judged at uka but think thats a bit different to KC...my first appointment has come to fruit...so Wallingford here we come...have alot of classes but always believe sink or swim!! will take my armbands...lol....must say a big thank you to Amanda and Arthur Rogers helping me and looking forward to a roast tomorrow!! mmmm yummy....

Hoochi has finally understood contacts and is starting to stop on them...i seriously looked at running contacts but saw a lot of problems with them too especially in g6/7 classes....and i know i cant beat him to the end...well see how he goes but at least i can go back and retrain the stops....this i have found a major problem if u dont have your own equipment...very frustrating but we have to work with the tools at our disposal....

as for his breathing that has improved grately, he has now lost alot of weight so back to his slim self...he is also had his spring haircut so that has helped! lol...

Fun weekend

Phew a busy weekend...a couple of dogs to groom! then met sis for cuppa and shopping b4 walking dogs and heading off to Debs Kenny 50th birthday party! i managed to actually wear a dress and tights and boots!! first time since being at school! lol...will have to find some piicies to prove it! lol...my memory card has broken in my camera so will need to get a new one soon...managed to play pool with Laura and Eleanor, Soph...wooo yes who won! cant remember but i did thrash Laura 2 games to 0!! lol....music was too loud so retreated to the bar and pool table...shows getting older when dont like loud music!! i had my first 'snowball' yuk...who invented that drink....went back to my coke!

Walked woofs today on common with Linda had to wait to afo as there was a horse endurance event on!! dont think could have coped walking woofs with loads of horses running around! lol

next wknd Judges seminar!! ahhhhh guna b a long weekend... lol

Esher woods walk

Had a lovely walk today on Esher Common...we walked over the A3 to Oxshott woods...so they had a really nice long walk...Peps even managed a swim in Black Pond...she definately remembers the woods as she is soo happy there! ahhh.... sweet lol
